Until around the end of 2018, Hella provided a universal aLWR retrofit kit (8XX 010 315-001), which unfortunately is no longer manufactured and sold by Hella. As the demand for an automatic headlight range control still is very large I decided to develop an ALWR myself. <strong>This ALWR (automatic headlight range control) is specially designed for vehicles with xenon or LED headlights, in which the light source of a headlight has a target luminous flux of 2000 Lumens exceeds. According to the legislator, these vehicles no longer allow the headlight range to be regulated manually from the interior.<\/strong><br \/>\nThis ALWR retrofit is mostly used for vehicles imported from abroad that do not have the appropriate automatic headlight range control were delivered and are therefore not eligible for approval in Germany without adjustment. Corresponding servomotors must of course be able to be mounted on the headlamp.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Somewhere on the back of the headlamp there should be a knob that can be used to manually adjust the headlamp beam by turning it.<br \/>\nIf you remove this knob, an LWR servomotor should be used in the same place instead so that the control can then be carried out electrically.<br \/>\nAfter removing the manual adjustment, the \u201cinstallation hole\u201d should look like the last picture with the 3 recesses arranged in a circle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>You should therefore contact me before buying and send a few good photos from the back of the headlight and the removed manual adjuster on the headlight by email!<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It should also be noted that the function of the ultrasonic sensor is only guaranteed in the range from 22 cm to 100 cm, so the vehicle should be within this range with its ground clearance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The installation and subsequent calibration of the electronics is very simple and can also be done by an inexperienced layperson, provided you have a current tester and can handle it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Functionality:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The automatic headlight range control automatically regulates the angle of inclination in all loading conditions. to create a constant light range and not to dazzle oncoming traffic.<\/p>\n<p>The ultrasonic sensor used is attached at the level of the rear axle and provides the electronics I have developed with corresponding pulses over the distance to the road, so that the electronics then regulate the servomotors and thus the headlight range accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>After successful calibration of the LWR, the saved setting values are retained even when the battery is disconnected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Calibration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The calibration is kept extremely simple.<\/p>\n<p>The headlights are adjusted using the \u201cUp\u201d \/ \u201cDown\u201d buttons and then the correct setting is saved by pressing \u201cSave\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important NOTE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The retrofitting of the vehicle is subject to <strong>registration<\/strong> (T\u00dcV \/ DEKRA or similar)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scope of delivery:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 electronic control (interface)<\/li>\n<li>1 ultrasonic sensor<\/li>\n<li>2 Hella servomotors<\/li>\n<li>Illustrated detailed installation instructions<\/li>\n<li>Ready-made cable set with assembled<\/li>\n<li>confusion-proof plugs<br \/>\nFrom that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5m supply line to the ultrasonic sensor<\/li>\n<li>2.5 m supply cable for driver side driver<\/li>\n<li>2.1 m power cable from driver\u2019s side to passenger\u2019s side<\/li>\n<li>0.2 m power connection (ground and 12 volts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This aLWR installation kit contains everything you need for the conversion.<\/p>\n<p>The installation time is about 2 to 3 hours.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1597658324862{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;]<strong>Vehicles converted so far:<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1601301119790{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;]BMW &#8211; E32<br \/>\nChrysler &#8211; Pacifica<br \/>\nDodge &#8211; Durango<br \/>\nDodge &#8211; Challenger<br \/>\nFord &#8211; Ranger Limited<br \/>\nHymer &#8211; Camper<br \/>\nMazda &#8211; CX9<br \/>\nMercedes Benz &#8211; G-Modell[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1601301139315{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;]Mercedes Benz &#8211; SL R129<br \/>\nMercedes Benz &#8211; SL R230<br \/>\nPorsche &#8211; 996 &#8211; 997<br \/>\nToyota &#8211; Sienna<br \/>\nVW T4 &#8211; ProjectZwo<br \/>\nVW T5 &#8211; ProjectZwo<br \/>\nVW T6 &#8211; ProjectZwo<br \/>\nYamaha &#8211; XT1200Z[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Conversion to electric automatic LWR \u2013 headlight range control for various vehicles This conversion kit is among other things required for imported vehicles or for retrofitting LED or xenon headlights.
