The Mercedes-Benz Vaneo (W 414) is a high-roof station wagon from DaimlerChrysler, which was launched in February 2002 after its presentation at the IAA 2001.
\nThe Vaneo is based on the first generation of the A-Class. It is a good 20 cm higher and 41 cm longer than its long version.
\nAccess to the rear seats is via sliding doors. The rear of the Vaneo has a one-piece tailgate or a two-leaf door.
\nThe range of engines consisted of the A-Class engines (after facelift) with 55\u201392 kW (75\u2013125 hp). The 1.7-liter diesel that developed 70 kW (95 hp) in the A-Class after the facelift came to 67 kW (91 hp) in the Vaneo.

\nVaneo sales remained below forecast; DaimlerChrysler cut production shortly after a lack of demand. In February 2005, three years after the market launch, DaimlerChrysler announced that it would cease production in the same year. By then, around 55,000 copies of the Vaneo had been made.
\nAfter a break of several years, the successor Mercedes-Benz Citan came onto the market in October 2012. It is based on the Renault Kangoo and is available in different lengths.<\/p>\n
