Description
The Mercedes-Benz Vaneo (W 414) is a high-roof station wagon from DaimlerChrysler, which was launched in February 2002 after its presentation at the IAA 2001.
The Vaneo is based on the first generation of the A-Class. It is a good 20 cm higher and 41 cm longer than its long version.
Access to the rear seats is via sliding doors. The rear of the Vaneo has a one-piece tailgate or a two-leaf door.
The range of engines consisted of the A-Class engines (after facelift) with 55–92 kW (75–125 hp). However, the 1.4-liter engine was not installed in the Vaneo, instead the throttled 1.6-liter version of the A 140 automatic. The 1.7-liter diesel that developed 70 kW (95 hp) in the A-Class after the facelift came to 67 kW (91 hp) in the Vaneo.
The Vaneo was built in the Ludwigsfelde automobile plant near Berlin.
Was criticized at Vaneo u. a. the seating comfort, quality defects and the price.
Vaneo sales remained below forecast; DaimlerChrysler cut production shortly after a lack of demand. In February 2005, three years after the market launch, DaimlerChrysler announced that it would cease production in the same year. By then, around 55,000 copies of the Vaneo had been made.
After a break of several years, the successor Mercedes-Benz Citan came onto the market in October 2012. It is based on the Renault Kangoo and is available in different lengths.

New conversion kit P.SABOS.24N.RSMLSTD
Sometimes, for different reasons, the headlight range control should not be controlled via the original vacuum vacuum box but electrically. This repair kit is intended for this. Since the attachment of the vacuum sockets is very special here, I have developed a suitable adapter to include an electr. To be able to attach the servomotor.
This conversion kit fits wherever the vacuum box shown is used and it is installed instead of the vacuum box. Of course, the wiring must also be laid here and a suitable switch must be installed in the interior. All of this is included in the scope of delivery so that you receive everything you need for the conversion.Ready-made electrical LWR conversion kit as a replacement for the original vacuum control, consisting of:
- 2 overhauled used Bosch servomotors
- Adapter for mounting the LWR motors instead of the vacuum box
- 1 rectangular thumbwheel switch for the interior
- very detailed illustrated installation instructions
- Various installation materials
- 1 cable set (new and suitably assembled)
